Pinwheel Sampler isn FINISHED!!!!!!!!!!

So about a year ago I took a quilting class with Marcia to make my first half square triangle quilt. It has been a journey for sure!

I got my sampler from Connecting Threads.  It is a Rachel Griffith Design I love it! It took me a long time, one the kids kept me busy, I decided to have surgery, go to Disney World and a whole slew of other things within the year.

Before I got started I had a TON of the HST all made out. Don't these look so neat and ready to go?

So here is a few of my favorite blocks.

I am VERY proud of those points!  I can't tell you how this was a labor of love. I have been making the quilt for my Dad. It is all sailing fabric and themed.

here are my blocks ready to be sewn together.
There they sat, for some time. Seems I managed on 6 to make them short. I have no idea how I did that. Could it have been that I was sewing them after surgery, while on pain meds? Naw..  lol

But last night I finished her.  Here she is. It is ready to head over to Marcia's to be quilted!

Like my corners? That was a fabric shortage issue. I had all kinds of issues, but it turned out neat with the corners being that way.

Block 5

I finally was able to get block 5 knocked out.  Well one of them at least.

I must say that I am really enjoying this pattern and all the new sewing techniques I have learned.

Only 3 more blocks to make and then I can begin to assemble this quit top. This quilt is a Christmas gift and I am so excited to give it to them.  ;o)

I am SO proud. I mean SO proud of that center point.  Looks easy, but matching up HST points can be tricky. Thankfully through classes I have learned a few tricks to help you.

Took this picture with my mistake. I fixed it later. This is block 5, one of two. The other is in blues.

Hopefully once school gets under way I can pick and night and get back to a good sewing schedule. I very much DISLIKE not being able to sew all day.

This is block 4. I know I took a picture of block 4, but ummm.......  Oh well I will post it later

Today I got all the HST ready for block 5. I like how it is turning out. Tomorrow hopefully I will get it all pieced.

Block 2

I got busy today after my nap. Since my sewing room is coming along so well, it is really becoming an even better place to work in.

Tonight I was able to sew both blocks 2 and get to work on block 3.

Here are both blocks for block 2. They are the "big" blocks. They came together very nice.

Well for some reason blogger keeps rotating my picture!  ARG! But you still get the idea.  Here is what blocks 3 will look like. This was a lot for me tonight so I had to stop before putting them together.

I feel I have a good system going here. I sew 2 blocks. Then I cut out and sew the HST for the next two blocks, get it all laid out and stop for the night. Not bad for an hour of work. Building my stamina back up.

oops for got to show another reason why I love red!

Look at all this space!!!! I can keep my pattern close, scissors and and my "push" stick for thick seams.

Block one

yes 3 post in one day!  But all different subjects.

I got a block done today. I couldn't stand it. After I worked in my room for an hour I had to sew on Red. She was so lonely.  Here is block one. I am happy with it. Love the colors and fabric. I am hoping that tomorrow I will get the 2nd block 1 done and cut for block 2.  Now I just need to get Brad to cut for me so I can work on my blocks of the month!

Here is block 1
Very pleased with myself. Love how all the points came together so well. Went together so dang easy too!
